By registering as a tutor with Pigeonhole Education ("Pigeonhole"), you agree to abide by the following Terms and Conditions, which govern your use of our services and your engagement with clients (students and/or their parents or guardians) sourced through our platform.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting your registration, profile, or any personal data to Pigeonhole, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2. Tutor Eligibility and Obligations
2.1 You must:
- Be at least 18 years of age.

2.2 You are responsible for:
- Maintaining professional conduct, punctuality, and regular communication with clients.
- Completing each tuition assignment for the agreed duration.
- Updating your availability or profile information as needed.
2.3 Any misrepresentation or breach of trust may result in immediate suspension or blacklisting and potential legal action.
3. Commission Structure
Pigeonhole operates two distinct schemes:
3.1 Common Tutor Pool Scheme
- Pigeonhole collects a fixed commission equivalent to the fees of the first two lessons.
- This amount is paid directly by the client to Pigeonhole.
- The tutor is responsible for collecting all subsequent lesson fees directly from the client.
3.2 Premium Tutor Pool Scheme
- Pigeonhole charges an ongoing commission per lesson, calculated based on lesson fees, student level, frequency, and other variables.
- Pigeonhole may facilitate payments between tutor and client, or monitor payment flow.
- Tutors will be notified in writing of their commission rate prior to confirmation.
3.3 General
- Any attempts to circumvent the commission system (e.g., arranging private payment to avoid fees) may result in immediate termination and legal recourse.
4. Lesson Commitment and Cancellation
4.1 Tutors must:
- Honour the agreed schedule and duration.
- Give at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations.
4.2 If a tutor cancels an assignment or a confirmed lesson with less than 24 hours’ notice, this may:
- Be considered a missed lesson.
- Result in forfeiture of commission or blacklisting.
4.3 Repeated cancellations or no-shows may lead to account suspension.
5. Conduct and Ethics
5.1 Tutors must:
- Refrain from soliciting clients for private arrangements outside of Pigeonhole.
- Maintain respectful and professional behavior in all interactions.
- Avoid inappropriate conduct, discrimination, or harassment of any kind.
5.2 Breaches will result in immediate termination and potential legal action.
6. Payment Terms
6.1 Under the Common Tutor Pool Scheme:
- Clients pay Pigeonhole the agreed commission upfront (first two lessons).
- Tutors collect payment from clients for all subsequent lessons.
6.2 Under the Premium Tutor Pool Scheme:
- Tutors may receive payment from Pigeonhole (less the commission) or collect directly, subject to arrangement.
- Tutors will be informed of payment methods and schedules prior to assignment.
6.3 Pigeonhole is not responsible for late or missed payments not covered under our Premium Scheme.
